Hi – Thanks for connecting! We do this for Android but can’t for Apple devices.
Those customers already used to Boomerang for Android devices will find that many of their most beloved features such as allocated screen time that encourages the use of good content, calls, texts, safe YouTube and enhanced security are not present on Apple devices. But many features are present and Apple devices also get some other features that Android does not have such as blocking of Apps by Age Category and blocking of Content by Age. Check out the comparison chart here.
We are hopeful that Apple will further the protocols that developers like us can use so that we can offer more in the future. Recently, Apple acknowledged that they need to do more and have made some plans in their iOS 12 to have a Digital Health component to fight addiction.
One of our cofounders has reached out to Apple directly, read his emails here: https://goo.gl/bisUj7 In the meantime, we continue to work at offering our best under the limitations of iOS.
Personally, I used to have Apple Devices but 3 years ago I switched to Android and have not looked back. Check out my video talking about this on my LinkedIn:
All of the above said, not asking you to sell the child’s Apple device and go Android – just providing you with information. We are fully committed to improving our offering for Apple devices and will be working hard to do what we can in meantime while we wait for Apple to provide better APIs so that we can offer a product that is more like Android. One of our upcoming ideas is around blocking the internet access for a specific set of Apps such as social media apps and popular games. This will not hide the app but render it useless since it will not be able to connect to the internet. Stay tuned for more improvements!
