What happens during a Time-Out?
When a parent, from their parent mode invokes a Time-Out, the child device will be 'bricked' and nothing will work except calls to 911 and calls to/from family members that have their numbers on the Always Allowed list as VIP numbers. Additionally, the Boomerang Family Messenger will work to communicate with other Boomerang family members.
Use Case of ONLY have specific Apps Work.
Most often, when we get asked this question it is due to the Parent wanting to have ONLY specific Apps work and have everything else 'bricked' - there is a way to do that:
To do this, login into the Boomerang Web Management Dashboard and then click on the Device and then:
- Click on the Screen Time Tab and schedule the screen time schedule so that it only works from 3:30am to 4:00am on a Wednesday which means that at ALL other times, there is no screen time and therefore the device is 'bricked' at all times outside this 30 minute window.
- Then, click on the Always Allowed Tab and under “Run Application” select the good essential Apps that you want your child to use. Ensure that you check the "Anytime" checkbox which exempts these essential Apps from the screen time schedule.
