Many Android phones still offer a removable battery. This means the back of the phone case can be removed and the battery can then be pulled out. When this action is performed on a child device, with Boomerang enabled, it will cause some corruption to our service which results in a loss of key permissions such as the Accessibility permission.
Behaviours you may encounter
- Your child's device usage report are not being emailed daily
- Screen Time is not applying the schedule limits you've set
- Blocking of apps is not working
- Your child is happier 😉
How to fix?
Physically check your child's device to see if any permissions are missing when you open the Boomerang app. If permissions are missing, reactivate them and with Boomerang open, tap on the three dots > Update Status.
There's not much we can do with software when the device physical tampered with. Once we detect the missing permissions, we will notify parents via their group email. Use this moment to start a conversation on the importance of using such screen time limits with your child.
