This is the right place to get the old Boomerang version that supports Android 4.x
Version 5.33 of Boomerang Parental Control is the recommended 'old version' to install on Android 4.x devices.
Get this version from the following link: https://bit.ly/Boomerang_Android4xx (share this link to all devices you require this version for; Ex: cut and paste it and SMS or email over to your child's device). Then from your child's device, tap on the link to download. Once downloaded, when you tap to open, you may be prompted to enable Installations from unknown sources - enable it for this installation. Also known as "sideloading" - see below.
Note: this is only required for devices that are running Android 4.x. All newer devices should stay current by installing the latest Boomerang version from Google Play.
What does "sideloaded" mean?
When referring to Android apps, "sideloading" typically means installing an application package in APK format onto an Android device. Such packages are usually downloaded from websites other than Google play, usually through a computer.
