- Your email and password set here, will be used to pair additional devices to your group
Add Child Devices
Perform the following steps on your child iOS devices. Follow the steps in this support article if you are adding Android child devices.
- Download Boomerang Parental Control from the App Store

- Once installed, tap to open Boomerang Parental Control
- Tap GET STARTED
- Tap LOGIN
- Tap CHILD MODE
- Follow the onboarding steps to configure the screen time schedule, age limits and location traction features.
- Enter your group email and password to join your existing group. This child device should now show up on your Parent device (you should have received a notification confirming you've added a device to your group). Repeat the above steps on all other child devices (Android or iOS).
Device Profile Installation
After setting up the app portion of Boomerang Parental Control on your child's iOS device, we will require the installation of a Device Profile for screen time and app controls.
IMPORTANT NOTE about the DEVICE PROFILE INSTALL
On iOS 12.2 or later, the Boomerang Parental Control Device Profile is downloaded to your child’s Settings (it is not installed). On previous iOS versions, we can forward the user to the proper area in Settings.
The following video walkthrough shows the above steps and also the whole Device Profile installation process.
Tips / Troubleshooting
- All commands sent to time out, extend time, block apps by age group or the daily automated screen time schedule require that your child's device has an active internet connection (wi-fi or cellular). If the device is offline, the changes will not work.
- Only one active device profile can be installed on an iOS device. For example, if you download a profile and don't install it, and then download a second profile, only the second profile is available to be installed. If a profile is not installed within 8 minutes of downloading it, it is automatically deleted.
- We cannot prevent deletion of the Device Profile. If your child does remove it, we will inform them that their parent has been notified about the removal. We inform parents via an email (your group email) and via any parent device that has Boomerang Parental Control installed in Parent Mode. In order to reinstall the Device Profile, make sure the Boomerang Parental Control app is swiped out of the recent apps list and reopen it. It will then prompt you to reinstall the Device Profile. Follow the same steps above.
