The dictionary feature that we have only works with Text Messages. It does not apply to searches within SPIN Safe Browser. Any term can be searched on Google, HOWEVER, the results will be filtered since we enforce Safe Search for Google, Bing & Yahoo.
This is the first level of filtering that is operated by Google, Yahoo & Bing themselves. They do a great job of removing pornography from image searches but still allows some racy images such as lingerie and bikinis. If you ever see anything inappropriate in a Google, Bing or Yahoo image search, report it to us and we’ll report it to them. We do block other search engines under a custom category called “Unsafe Search Engines” – Ex: AOL is unfortunately blocked since they do not have a mechanism that allows their safe search to be permanently turned on.
Then we have our own database of millions of sites that contain inappropriate material and these are blocked by us quickly – we have robots that find and categorize thousands of new sites daily.
Furthermore, we have our own “Prone to Porn” category which blocks sites that are normally good but have unfiltered access to pornography, like Twitter, Tumblr, Imgur, Reddit and even Pinterest.
Tip: From Boomerang's Parent Mode or via the Boomerang Web Management Dashboard, our Web Browsing History will show you the Google search history. It is not super easy to view as it is in the format of a link such as:
So in the example above, you will know that your child searched for "roswell alien."
