Music apps can still be used on lock screen or notifications area

Music apps will often add a widget to the Notifications bar on your child's Android device so they can skip, pause, play their music without opening the app. Boomerang Parental Control will not block access to these permanent notifications. We will block the app if your child tries to open it by tapping on the notification as this will open the actual app.

We will also not count time in our Daily reports when an app is running in the background and the screen it off. So if your child is listening to music past today's Allocated Device Timer, Daily App Limit or Scheduled Screen Time, chances are your child is using a similar notification widget to control their music.
