Texts: In the effort to make our lives more convenient, what can be done is that if your child receives a text message when time is up (bedtime), then they have an opportunity to reply to it right via the notification bar without actually opening up the Messages App. And then, this can go on and on…
Solution: Update Boomerang. The October 2018 release (version 9.34) solves this issue.
The latest version auto-closes the Notification Bar when there is no scheduled screen time. Update to the latest version of Boomerang!

What would work better is a way to do multiple allowances is the app section. For example. Texting isn't allowed m to Friday 9 am to 4pm and 8 pm to midnight. Multiple allowances on a given day.
We are doing the multiple allowances right now by device schedule and doing it per app could get complicated in terms of setup and also from knowing what is doing what in troubleshooting scenarios. Plus, the core issue here of the reply to via notifications can only be solved if we do the programmatic Do Not Disturb when scheduled screen time is 'out.'
I want both "do not disturb" and the "block replies to messages through the notification bar"
With our new beta, we are testing a "swipe block" feature when time's up so the notification bar will swipe back up when it is swiped down. The challenge is if the replies are being down on the lock screen vs. from the home screen. We can only block from the home screen and Android doesn't allow us to block anything when the phone's on the lock screen. If you are not comfortable doing this, no problems, we are very close to releasing this version! It also introduces a per app daily timer too. Check out this post for more info: https://community.useboomerang.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004843232-Test-our-Per-App-Daily-Timer-BETA-
